Mock Digipak

Creating our Mock Digipak;

One of our tasks was to create a mock Digipak which consists on a making what goes inside a CD case and also the cover from scratch, creating for an imaginary band, which in this case was a folk band called the "Hobgoblins". when creating this Digipak, we had to take into consideration the generic conventions of a typical Digipak that a professional artists would use for their CD release. When creating our Digipak, we thought a lot about the main image that would first be seen by people when they look at the Digipak. This is why we chose to go with a stereotypical folk man playing his guitar as the front cover image, as this is what stereo typically would be seen within this genre. We also included the songs that are in the album and added a graphic design to the CD it self. We done this so that the Digipak is more visually appealing to the person viewing it, making them more likely to listen tot he CD.

What people thought of the advert;

After showing our Mock Digipak to a number of people, we had similar feedback overall. Also all of the people we asked liked the lined paper background and also the graphic on the front, as they thought this tied into the Folk genre very well. However, a few of the people thought that a few more images or elements could be added to the Digipak to make it look more professional and make it more appealing to the target audience. These comments are fair and I agree with them entirely and could easily be amended by spending more time on the Digipak.

What I learnt from this;

Overall from this task, I learnt the key aspects and elements that are needed to be included to make a professional Digipak when I come to make my own for my own choice of band. From this I can see that I need to put more elements and detail into the Digipak, so that it will look more visually appealing and also make the overall piece look create for the desired genre I chose.

This is the front cover and also the back of the Digipak.
The back of the CD cover will include the songs
on the album .

This is the inside of the Digipak, which includes the CD
with a illustrated guitar design imprinted onto it.
