Mock Magazine Advert

Creating our magazine advert;

One of our tasks was to create a mock magazine advert for a made up band or artist, which in our groups case ended being the band Luna Chicks. When creating the advert, we wanted to take into consideration all of the elements of the advert which would be stereotypical of a girl pop band such as the genre that the bands songs are and also the overall stereotype of a pop girl band like this. We chose to use the colour pink for the bands name as pink is stereo-typically associated with females and also was used so that the name stood out. The font used throughout the poster ties in with the Luna Chicks image well as it not only links to the overall band but also links with the title of the album "Girls will be girls" with the girls in the band being quite 'bad'. we also considered the distributions companies at the bottom of the advertisement, as we wanted out band to be associated with well known distribution companies such as Spotify and Apple, which would be able to make the album available to a wider audience.

What people thought of the advert;

After showing our magazine advert to a number of people, we had similar feedback overall. to start off with people thought that the magazine advert tied in well with the girl pop band genre because of the colours, image of the band also the font of the text within the advert. however a few of the people thought that a few more elements could have been added to the advert to make the advert more appealing and less boring, which i agree with entirely.

What i learnt from this;

Overall from this task, i learnt the key aspects and elements that are needed to be included to make a professional magazine advert when i comes to making my own fro my own choice of band. From this i can see that next time it comes to making a magazine advert, i will need to add more element into the advert to make the advert more appealing, which could easily be done by spending more time on the advert rather than the 2 lessons we had to complate this mock advert.
