No strong narrative. Only that lead singer walks through the streets of London, then arrives at bands performance and continues with band.

Performance Shots.

Ending with the bands performance

What is the story line of the video?

It is about grief and overcoming a loss of a loved one.

Grief/ Loss and overcoming it.

No equilibrium stages shown throughout video.

Lead singer = The main character

Very limited as lead singer only walks through streets of London then performs.

No Real representations of issues only reliability to the lead singer.

Lead singer is shown throughout = More power/ recognition.

No real representation and only a stereotypical band towards the end.

The artist has been constructed as being their typical self and wearing what they are typically seen in real life wearing.

No, the characters are shown to be themselves and not portray other charterers.

Mid shots of lead singer throughout, close-ups of band members within performance scenes, performance shots of whole band/ individually and close-ups of lead singer.

The mid shot of the artist throughout helps the audience to follow his journey through London.

What is the editing like? Type of cuts etc.?

Slow paced editing throughout the majority and then changes when lead singer starts to run. fast cut shots are used throughout the performance part of the video.

Who is the target audience for the video? How does the video target this specific audience?

Late teens upwards. 

This is due to the fact that the audience may find this relatable, where the lead singer thinks about life and also the surroundings.

What role does the record company play in the music video?

Parlophone- This is the record label that Coldplay is under, funding the video.

What is the brand image of the star is sold? How is the star marketed and promoted?

No real branding Incorporated into the music video itself. It is shown they are well known and famous from the huge crowd they are performing to. 


How will this help me with my music video?

This analysis of professional music video will help me as it first will aid me in coming up with ideas for my own music video as well as seeing what needs to be included to produce an effect music video.
